do, including what ryan says about vouchers. >> well, the whole healthcare debate was a pretty good proxy for the larger debate. romney had his five points against the president. he talked about these panels which there's a panel called death panels. he talked about the $716 billion cut. the president's response was he kind of backed into his response figuring he would explain it and everybody would be smart enough to see the absurdity of mitt romney but he was not clear and on point. particularly on this voucher question, and what romney would propose with paul ryan to do to medicare. i mean, this is where i heard from a couple republicans well now we're on to medicare and this is where the president will just clobber him because it's an issue that's very sensitive and it's one in which mitt romney basically if we get back to this question in secrecy, romney's answer to how are you going to do this, how are you going to cap the ryan of healthcare inflation without hurting quality he basically says well the free market will figure that out which is to say there's not many details ab

a job, have their husband have a job, put their kids in school, have food on the table, healthcare. the real war on women is the bad economy. >> he is terrible on that. he doesn't support the lily ledbetter act, which is necessary to get women equal pay. >> amazing, again. 2012, we're still talking about equal pay for develwomen. >> right, right. if women had equal pay for equal work, we would have $200 billion more in the economy, exactly where we needed with buying power. >> [indiscernible]. >> absolutely. he's not supporting equal pay even. >> yeah. >> so i'm guessing you're not voting for him? [laughter] >> is that a fair assumption. i'm old. >> why? there are people that will tell you, look, mitt romney is not nearly as conservative at his core as a lot of people nominated by the republicans before. >> i know. >> a lot of the stuff he says -- you actually view him to be not as conservattve as reagan, bush junior.. >> nixon, ll sorts of things could not get nominated now. first bush, who supporttd -- >> he would be opposed because of his support. >> are you for obama? do you th

some really distracting and really unclear, in fact, untrue statements about healthcare where he said i am for coverage for preexisting conditions, his people later on said he wasn't and he said, in fact, before that he never was really for covering preexisting conditions unless, you know, it is paid for, ahead of time during, you know, continuing coverage, and a couple of times in the last week he said things like well if you get sick we won't let you die in your apartment and get you to er and yet came on last night talking about a national health plan he had which he really doesn't have. i thought he got away with a lot of things showing sympathy for social security recipients when in the tape recently exposed it was clear he had no sympathy for people he sees as parasites so i just thought the president, he didn't use his synapse and bring out things that weren't brought up by someone else and didn't really clarify what the difference was between what romney was saying last night and what he said in the very recent past. >> rose: so how do you explain the fact that the presid

is with the vast majority of americans said they wanted during the healthcare debate. there were some 70% of people are more and majority of doctors saying, we want a single pair medicare for all system. president obama and his compatriots there were colluding with the insurance companies would not even let the single payer medicare for all proposal see the light of day. the president folded even on the idea of a public auction. it was an enormous betrayal of the public interest so that they could please the for-profit insurance companies that has such a stranglehold on our congress and now on the white house. >> dr. jill stein, this is your profession, health care. >> that's right, it's my profession read this is where i live. i live in the state of massachusetts. i have seen the affordable care act. we also call it romneycare or obamacare, take your pick. we have seen their rollout. what we have seen is the affordable care act actually in the flesh is neither affordable nor caring, because in fact, it provides stripped-down plans which are fairly expensive unless you are in a v

healthcare. we lose sight of that every time to talk about this. i think it is important the acknowledge this is larger than just an american problem. >> i want to add something to what you just talked about, specifically when it comes to the conduct of soldiers when they come home. there is a percentage of soldiers who engage in various activities that the military levels as misconduct, such as alcohol related offenses, drinking, substance abuse, drug- related offenses. those are misconduct in the military. so the process of helping those who come home and need help and appropriate care should not be confused with diminishing or degrading the system of accountability within the military. the military heavily depends on what is commonly referred to as the good order and discipline of the military. all of us in my field where we work, i acknowledge -- where i work, we of knowledge that. someone who is not able to receive the proper inappropriate treatment or individually tailored treatment they need, they resort to things like self medicating. the science has proven, research has proven this i
